Pan-fried Red Chicory recipe

Red chicory or Radicchio rosso, is a popular vegetable salad in northern Italy. Raw or cooked in different ways, it is a must try of our cuisine.

In this article, we are sharing another very simple way of preparing Radicchio with a quick recipe. If you have to prepare a meal in short time and you want to serve a vegetable dish quick and appetizing, this recipe is worth a try.

Treviso, in Veneto region, is famous for its Radicchio rosso.

Ingedients for pan-fried red chicory recipe, two persons

  • 400 gr of red chicory;
  • 1 clove of garlic;
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil;
  • Few drops of balsamic vinegar;
  • Salt;
  • Ground black pepper.

Preparation of pan-fried red chicory recipe

Wash and dry the red chicory leaves. In a large pan, season the extra virgin olive oil with the garlic for a few seconds, then add the red chicory leaves.

Add salt, pepper, put the lid on the pan and let cook for about 10 minutes at medium heat. When red chicoty is cooked, add few drops of balsamic vinegar and serve.

Wash the radicchio leaves.

Garlic & extra virgin olive oil: perfect companions.

Put the washed red chicory in the pan.
