In one year, an American consumes 45 lbs of sugar.

Americans are used to consume more or less 45 lbs of the so called "fruit drinks" per year. They are responsable of an excess of sugar intake in people and, consequently of their obesity!

A real market and marketing exists and grows up behind this sector, most of all addressing to children and their parents. Beverage makers and producers would like you to believe that fruit drinks are healthy e.g. Minute Maid, but they're not: think that a Minute Maide Juice (150 kcal) has more calories than a Coke (97 kcal)!

For every 8 oz. sugary drinks per day a child's odds of obesity increase 60%. Tv ads, radio and digital offer many reminds to fruit drinks so pay attention because behind such a kind of guerrilla marketing only exists our children's health.
